Continuing my series of posts talking about something I understand little but really like, music. Today I'll be giving my opinion on the
sixth album by the Red Hot Chili Peppers, One Hot Minute.
This album was released on September 12, 1995, 4 years after Blood Sugar Sex Magic. This recording did not include the participation of guitarist Jhon Frusciante, who after the success of the last album ended up losing himself to drugs and walked away from the band. His position was taken over by Dave Navarro who joined the band with AK, Flea and Chad Smith.
On this record, probably influenced by Navarro's entry, I felt some riffs much more geared towards metal or hard rock (Coffee Shop), analyzing individually even the guitar solos Dave's performance wasn't bad but in my opinion it didn't fit a bit with the rest of the band. The songs looked like scraps and they were playing one thing on top of the other to turn it right.
Another thing I noticed was that Kiedis lost some of his vocal strength on this album, perhaps related to the chemical dependency he was going through. Flea and Chad found it more muted, except in some songs that even contained the star of Flea stood out.
In general, I didn't really like the album, much inferior to the last 2, Frusciante is not only good, it's good for RHCP. Navarro is also a good guitarist but it didn't work out.
For me the best song on the album was when they did what they know best, Jazz/Funk em Walkabout which even had the sound of a Cu铆ca, I thought it was very good, I didn't expect it. (The br will meet)

Continuando minha s茅rie de posts falando de algo que entendo pouco mas gosto muito, m煤sica. Hoje estarei dando minha opini茫o sobre o sexto 谩lbum da banda Red Hot Chili Peppers, One Hot Minute.
Esse 谩lbum foi lan莽ado em 12 de setembro de 1995, 4 anos ap贸s o Blood Sugar Sex Magic. Essa grava莽茫o n茫o contou com a participa莽茫o do guitarrista Jhon Frusciante, que ap贸s o sucesso do 煤ltimo 谩lbum acabou se perdendo pras drogas e se afastou da banda. Sua posi莽茫o foi assumida por Dave Navarro que integrou a banda com AK, Flea e Chad Smith.
Nesse disco, provavelmente influenciada pela entrada de navarro senti uns riffs muito mais voltados pro metal ou hard rock (Coffee Shop), analisando individualmente at茅 mesmo pelos solos de guitarra a atua莽茫o de Dave n茫o foi ruim mas na minha opini茫o n茫o encaixou nenhum pouco com o restante da banda. As m煤sicas pareciam retalhos e foram jogando uma coisa em cima da outra pra vez se dava certo.
Outra coisa que notei foi que o Kiedis perdeu um pouco da for莽a vocal nesse 谩lbum, talvez relacionada com a depend锚ncia qu铆mica pela qual estava passando. Flea e Chad achei mais apagados, exceto em algumas m煤sicas que mesmo contido a estrela do Flea se sobressaia.
De maneira geral n茫o gostei muito do disco, muito inferior aos 2 煤ltimos, Frusciante n茫o 茅 apenas bom, 茅 bom pro RHCP. Navarro tamb茅m 茅 um bom guitarrista mas n茫o deu liga.
Pra mim a melhor m煤sica do 谩lbum foi quando eles fizeram o que mais sabem, Jazz/Funk em Walkabout que contou at茅 com o som de uma Cu铆ca, achei muito bom, n茫o esperava. ( Os br v茫o conhecer)
