Phoenix Factory Phoenix bicycle started in 1904 at Joure, but soon moved to Leeuwarden. Phoenix built solid bikes and sometimes with surprising things, such as a three-speed Mutaped transmission in the bracket. After 1945, the angular fenders and crowns fork a distinctive style element. Phoenix turned out well and purchased early 60s Fongers Teuton and worked together to form PFG. That sign is still on sale too, but in 1970 it took over by Batavus and it was finally for the factory in Leeuwarden.
