Hello Everyone,
I am going to share with you all about my water lily story. I have tried to grow them and failed. After few tries, it got successful. And I have learnt many new things while trying to grow them in our garden. One thing is, how to get new plants.
For the first time, when I grow a Blue Water Lily, it looked healthy at first and even a little flower bud came out. Soon after the flower bud came out from the water, it looked like it was attacked by some disease and died. After that, plant also started to die.
As for our second attempt, we have removed the mud and water we had before and used new water and mud for new plant. If the pot is newly built, we need to put water at least a week before planting. Unless the cement will make the plant die.
Plant grew up and little buds came once again as the first one got. With the joy of seeing them, I have touched the little buds. Then they died once again. First the bud was rotten and then the plant died.
Other than adding new water and mud, we have change the place of the pot. We kept it under direct sunlight. Yeah, I forgot, Water lilies grows in ponds where they will have direct sunlight most of the time of the day.
This was successful. Direct sunlight made our plant healthier. And the warning is….
Never touch the flower buds while they are growing. Never!!!
Now they have grown very well and we can see the flowers every day. There was a little surprise for us when they started blooming.
I got two blue water lily plants from my aunt. But I got blue flowers and pink flowers when they grow up. She has given me the only pink plant she had to me by a mistake. now I should give her a pink water lily plant.
Here comes the news for me. I found it, observed it and now I know it. This is all after my aunt telling it to me.
The new plants of water lilies are grown from the leaves or the dying flowers.
Did you know it already?
Today I found them, and there are few more yet to grow. When the little plants are grown a bit, they are released from the leaf or the flower. And I found one floating on the water after happening this.
I have collected them and planted them in plastic containers until we make a little pond at the end of our land. So I will be able to grow as much plants as I want.
Later, I am hoping to collect some more colors of them into my garden.
Thank you all for reading ❤.
