I'm really happy with this. It's a recreation of an 1800's painting by an unnamed artist, but with a dog holding a stick instead of a noble with a gun.

I've done this many times, borrow classic works to use for my own means. I would recommend it to anyone trying to hone their mechanical skills. Even renaissance painters recreated older works as a means of practice. It's not theft if you add yourself into it. That being said, I would never do this with a contemporary artist's work, unless I was trying to understand their technique. Even then, it wouldn't be salable.

Next up, I've started a tiny little dog's head superimposed onto Sylvester Stallone's body in Scarface. The iconic cocaine desk scene. First you get the money, then you get the power, then you get the women. I think that's closer to the Simpsons than the original quote, but I'm going to run with it.

My show is up and running at The Black Lab Brewery, so if you're in Toronto, come check it out at 818 Eastern Ave. Just east of Leslie on the north side.

It's up until January, and there are prints available on site as well.
