As seen on my title, there is no other way for me to derive this blog's title. I just wanna share my journey how it all began.

February 18, 2021 - I got an email from a company which I passed my resume thru online.

Online application is now common nowadays since the pandemic still not yet over. Early this year, I started to look for job and passed my resume online. I managed my social media account to notify me and joined some job hiring group so I can have a wide range of job hiring around me. Actually I am looking for job that is closest to my location. I don't want to travel too far 'cause the risk of taking covid-19 cannot be taken for granted.

Back to my story, I got an email, the HR called me and told me that I have scheduled for a Zoom meeting. Initial interview was done thru phone and everything's sounded good. She was so nice and very accomodating. She emailed me once again for the zoom id and password. Personally, I've never used the zoom app before. I bet many of you will laugh at me, but honestly it's true.

February 19, 2021 - Zoom Meeting

I get ready for our 8:30 am meeting via zoom. I dressed myself with my favorite one and put some make up to look presentable. I put my phone into my cute monopad with my 2 earphones, (just in case the other one didn't work) my resume and all documents that is needed for my application.

Everything is well set, but have some trouble issues on audio so I decided not to use an earphone and the interview started. Didn't have a chance to took some screenshots while on my interview 'cause I know that it will interupt us.

Our conversation went well, she gave me an exam (assesment on mental ability and emotional stability) All of these are answered thru website and after answering all the questions she gave me this endorsement letter and intro letter. Printed it and attached with my resume and picture. Everything's feels good and I believe that I can make it to the final interview.

February 22, 2021 - Final Interview at the Mall

I woke up 5:30 in the morning and prepared for my interview. Around 7:30 am I'm on my way to travel to avoid being late. The time schedule was 9 am and I arrived at the mall at 8 am. When I asked the guard where is the place for the interview they told me that the time for the interview was around 10 am as the mall open. I've waited for 2 hours outside the mall.

(these are the other applicants)

The mall opens at exact 10 am. I go to the second flour of the building and found the said establishment. I gave my resume to the supervisor and wait for 30 minutes to be called. She looks fine, not too approachable looks plain. She asked me only asked me very few questions like, what's my middle initial, am i single, how old am I and is this my first time apply on a mall.

After asking me those questions, she told me that I would ask my agency for the result. At the back of my mind, I knew that this is not a good feedback coming from her. Though I felt that way, I'd still hoping that my gut feelings might be wrong. I waited for a message from that company and finally they message me and told me that I didn't meet the standard of the mall. At first I questioning why? What's wrong with my answers? I think I am over age, as I knew that malls are very strict with age. That's the sad reality of my experience.

Sharing my personal experience in a blog is like my diary or should I say, I can release some emotional stress that they gave me. Though the result is not good, my thoughts about this:

It was their lost, not mine...

Why? Do I act so rude?

For me, I know myself more than anyone. I know how I work, how I am dedicated and trust-worthy. I know my values and I would loved to work on a company that treat their employees right. This is just a give and take relationship for both the employers and the employee.

My point of view to the employer: They just asked me few questions and I think if I was on their shoe, I will have a better interview for all the applicants that wanted to have a job. You cannot screen applicants based on their resume alone. In reality, the Philippines has numerous job vacancies but few people only passed. As an average people like me that didn't have a college degree, the skills matters. Most fresh graduates struggles also on job hunting 'cause most of the company wanted to hire applicants with experience. Other scenarios, an applicant with all the experiences but didn't meet the educational attainment required fails also.

That's real story that laborers are facing right now. Even though before the pandemic starts, it's been a problem. I hope that the standard here in the Philippines would be more realistic with sympathy. Educated people are in the main streams, good for them. We don't need to lose hope, just keep on searching for a job or any small source of income. Trying out all of these can become our turning point.

In every failure comes a more stronger and tougher version of you. It's okay not to feel okay in every failure, it's normal. Being true to yourself can release you of stress and please don't dwell into it for too long 'cause it might give you low self confident, self pity and pride. Pride sometimes is necessary to keep your mindset in positive ways.

Disclaimer: All of things that I wrote here was my personal experiences, and I never wanted to act like I knew everything. All of us has a different path that we take, experiences teaches us and mold us so we can solved every puzzle of ourlives. Excuse my wrong grammar lol :)

Did you experience like this before? how can you react to this situation? Thank's for reading this and stay safe ❤

LIFE MUST GO ON!
