For the start of the third year of Rainbow Six Siege on March 6, Ubisoft wants to ease the first few hours in the game for newcomers. For this reason, the first 20 operators that released the Tactics Shooter will be made accessible without unlock lock.
Users who buy or own at least the standard edition of the game can access 20 out of 36 operators from the start and do not have to spend around 20 hours unlocking. In addition, the "reputation" costs for the weapon accessories are eliminated. This change applies to all 36 previously published and all future operators. Due to a "technical restriction", players who have already unlocked these classes and weapon accessories will not be refunded.
Buyers of the Starter Edition will have different terms and conditions. Instead of two standard operators and 600 R6 credits, they will get six randomly selected operators from a beginner-friendly selection that are evenly distributed to attackers and defenders. Other standard operators will still cost 12,500 "reputation". These changes are designed to give players a better chance of choosing an operator instead of the generic recruit class. With a view to the ranked game, in which the possibility of excluding certain operators of the opposing team is to be included in the future, and Ubisoft's eSports ambitions, this is urgently needed.
