Hello hiver!
I love mountain landscapes like the ones I'm showing you in the Italian Alps. One of the most interesting things about them for photography is that the weather conditions are highly variable, and that gives you tons of possibilities. For example, the two days I spent in San Martino di Castroza, I found moments of clear skies and others of such dense fog that visibility was poor.

Me encantan los paisajes de lugares monta帽osos como estos que te muestro de los Alpes italianos. Una de las cosas m谩s interesantes que tienen para la fotograf铆a es que las condiciones clim谩ticas son muy variables y eso te brinda un mont贸n de posibilidades. Por ejemplo, los dos d铆as que pas茅 en San Martino di Castroza encontr茅 momentos de cielo despejado y otros de una neblina tan densa que la visibilidad era escasa.
For example, in this first photo, visibility was quite good, as the fog was very light. What's interesting is that at that altitude, very little vegetation can be seen, and if it weren't for the buildings, it could be compared to a lunar landscape.
Por ejemplo, en esta primera foto hab铆a bastante visibilidad, pues la niebla era muy ligera. lo interesante es que a esa altura se ve muy poca vegetaci贸n y de no ser por las edificaciones, pudiera compararse con un paisaje lunar.

On this other occasion as well there was bright sunshine and a few gorgeous cotton like clouds dotting the sky.
Tambi茅n en esta otra ocasi贸n hab铆a un sol brillante y unas cuantas hermosas nubes algodonosas salpicaban el cielo.
02- Sunny day / D铆a soleado
I'm not accustomed to towering mountains, and simply being in proximity generates an emotion that I can hardly describe. Maybe a combination of admiration and wonder for these massive peaks.
No estoy acostumbrado a las monta帽as imponentes, y el simple hecho de estar cerca me genera una emoci贸n dif铆cil de describir. Quiz谩s una combinaci贸n de admiraci贸n y asombro ante estos imponentes picos.
03- At the foot of giants / Al pie de gigantes
Upon taking the photograph, I questioned if the clouds were too low or the village was too high, and the mountains beyond it, farther yet. Clearly there was a bit of both, but mostly the latter.
Al tomar la fotograf铆a, me pregunt茅 si las nubes estaban demasiado bajas o si el pueblo estaba demasiado alto, y a煤n m谩s las monta帽as a lo lejos. Claramente hab铆a un poco de ambas cosas, pero sobre todo de esto 煤ltimo.

Seeing this scene of a small chapel up high and the steps you have to climb to reach it, I couldn't help but think of the famous musical group Led Zeppelin and their big hit "Stairway to Heaven."
Al ver esta escena de una peque帽a capilla en lo alto y los escalones que hay que subir para llegar a ella, no pude evitar que viniera a mi mente el conocido grupo musical Led Zeppelin y su gran 茅xito "Escaleras al cielo.
05- Stairway to heaven / Escaleras al cielo
Mountaineering enthusiasts will certainly reach higher altitudes, but I only made it to about 2,700 meters, on Rosseta Peak, and that was because I took the cable car up. I confess, that sport wasn't for me.
Los amantes del alpinismo seguro llegar谩n m谩s alto, pero yo solo llegu茅 hasta unos 2700 metros, en el Pico Rosseta, y eso porque hice la subida en el telef茅rico. Les confieso que ese deporte no se hizo para mi.
06- Peaks between clouds / Picos entre nubes
With Rosseta Peak on my mind, I鈥檒l leave you with one final photo of the cable car station in heavy fog that restricted visibility to a few meters.
Con el pico Rosseta en mi mente te dejo una 煤ltima foto de la estaci贸n del telef茅rico en medio de una densa niebla que restring铆a la visibilidad a unos pocos metros.
