I will share something I overlooked in my post on my visit to San Martino de Castroza. It's about my short stay in Cornuda, a little village that seems like an oasis of calm. The bus officially stops there so that passengers may stretch their legs and have lunch at one of the neighborhood restaurants.
From the bus window, it was evident the towns modest charm was two-story homes with light plaster on top and strong, peaceful stone on the bottom level. The houses are built in relatively modern styles, with their shutters and iron bars on the windows and their gabled roofs covered with tiles. I got off the bus and noticed how clean the streets were, the silence. Everything radiates warmth and calm.
We quickly came across the ideal invitation: an Osteria under the shade of large trees with a sign promising grilled meat. Warm Italian welcome and wood smoke smell lured us in. The simple and traditional place is clearly a meeting place for locals to share stories and enjoy authentic flavors.
I sat on the patio and enjoyed a local wine and dishes that honor the area's cuisine.The family-run osterias and stone homes in Cornuda capture the actual character of northern Italy: simple, friendly, and highly respectful of tradition.
When the bus began up again, we kept our trip to the San Martino di Castrozza mountains, bringing with us the vision of that town with its stone houses and slanted roofs as well as the smoky taste of a shared pausa, a small Italian secret discovered in the center of Veneto.

Compartir茅 algo que pas茅 por alto en mi publicaci贸n sobre mi visita a San Martino de Castroza. Se trata de mi breve estancia en Cornuda, un peque帽o pueblo que parece un oasis de calma. El autob煤s para all铆 para que los pasajeros puedan estirar las piernas y comer en uno de los restaurantes del barrio.
Desde la ventanilla del autob煤s, se apreciaba el modesto encanto del pueblo: sus casas de dos plantas con yeso claro en la parte superior y piedra s贸lida y apacible en la planta baja. Las casas son de estilo relativamente moderno, con persianas y rejas de hierro en las ventanas y techos a dos aguas cubiertos de tejas. Baj茅 del autob煤s y not茅 lo limpias que estaban las calles, el silencio. Todo irradiaba calidez y calma.
Enseguida encontramos la invitaci贸n ideal: una osteria a la sombra de grandes 谩rboles con un cartel que promet铆a carne a la parrilla. La c谩lida bienvenida italiana y el olor a humo de le帽a nos atrajeron. Este lugar sencillo y tradicional es, sin duda, un punto de encuentro para que los lugare帽os compartan historias y disfruten de sabores aut茅nticos.
Me sent茅 en el patio y disfrut茅 de un vino local y de platos que hacen honor a la gastronom铆a de la zona. Las osterias y casas de piedra familiares de Cornuda capturan el car谩cter real del norte de Italia: sencillas, amigables y muy respetuosas de la tradici贸n.
Cuando el autob煤s volvi贸 a ponerse en marcha, continuamos nuestro viaje hacia las monta帽as de San Martino di Castrozza, llevando con nosotros la visi贸n de ese pueblo con sus casas de piedra y tejados inclinados y el sabor ahumado de una pausa compartida, un peque帽o secreto italiano descubierto en el centro del V茅neto.
