No, not listening to you unless it’s my concern. On a side note, I don’t want to listen to your blabbering. So, it doesn’t matter how persistently you keep knocking me, at the end of the day it's about the fake expression— “I can’t hear you.”
An everyday phenomenon we are familiar with, more or less; moving on with priorities, we have learnt to ignore the voices around us, unwanted voices.
It’s no secret everybody wants to be heard. One who speaks has this great enthusiasm for making his speech the only prominent thing in the room; seeking all the attention in an attempt to climb up and above the noise. But this doesn’t happen every time— not when the person you are talking to is unwilling to pay attention to your words of wisdom(?!).
And then the heart gets broken. On top of that, if it feels like you are the only person being delighted by your words, there is nothing worse than this.
Well, there might be some cases for which you are not being heard— probably you are going on and on without a break but your audience begs to differ. Or perhaps, you sound like whining that significantly lowers the value of your words and no matter how loudly you whin, it will remain unheard unless you are a dog; the ultimate whiner.
Communication is something you have to establish based on the situation. Whether it’s between the group you are interacting or one-to-one communication, it needs to have a purpose. Be it a business talk or a selfish narcissistic talk, understanding the audience is the key matter when being heard is your primary concern. So, without being a cry wolf and killing your audience with anecdotal, boring, and murmuring, tune in the voice and delve in.
Today, I got up early— earlier than usual and went out for some purposes. On my way, I met a renowned hustler in my area and his presence in the early hours put me in awe. Suddenly my mind came across the idea that he must’ve been doing duties all night and perhaps, he is going to sleep soon.
I saw him throwing out some dried cake up in the air and calling something— probably birds; wild birds. So, even after being wild and totally independent, those birds respond to his call and gather around to eat the offerings. However, a particular type of bird respond to his call and I saw some other species of birds going away as he started throwing those foods up.
That’s the thing— that’s how you succeed in establishing communication with the right people, walk your talk, and strike right to the point of interest of the audience if you do not want to forfeit your chance to be heard.
