What’s hot?
What’s not— be it the temperature, market price, and the gals outside; man, I’m melting in the heat. Well, there’s one thing that’s still cold— Hive price, although this chill indicates it’ll be hot soon, and I pray it will be, the current market is not pleasant for those who are planning to do the shopping with Hive.
Anyway, I don’t bother that much about heat and weather if I don’t have a plan to go outside leaving my shade, which is still my case today, but something triggered me to check the weather online.

Believe me, I didn't expect that. Even though I am sweating right now, I would like to believe it’s due to that poor ceiling fan— aged 25 years or more and still, without a single servicing. It used to sound a lot but with a little bit of lubricant and it was fixed except for the low rpm issue which sometimes makes me feel like— why don’t I throw it away and buy another. But I’m just a guest in my house. On average, I stay here around 1 month in a year— so, let it go.
Patience is what I make friends with when it feels too hot in the room. And there’s this floor— pitch black and cold like a chilly drink in the freezer.
Well, those words were just to comfort my mind. The reality is different, it’s harsh I must say.
See what it is saying?
“Hot with plenty of sunshine; breezy this afternoon; dangerous heat”
Man, I’d love to see that “plenty of sunshine” in the monsoon, “breezy this afternoon” in autumn so I can fly a kite, and “dangerous heat” in the winter so I can take a shower without hesitation, but, in summer, I just can’t digest the sarcasm behind those posh words.
Can’t say what it was last year, but, it seems like summer this year is more like a punishment than a bountiful season with all those juicy fruits. The heat is so uncomfortable and probably it’s more acute because of Ramadan— no hydration at all and what you drink at night either evaporates in hours or drains out as urine.
However, the scenario changes at night— that period of time between sunset and sunrise; it feels divine. Drinking water and eating delicious foods in the evening with the family members and then laying in the bed lazily sometimes make it the best time during the whole day and it continues till dawn. Suddenly the temperature starts falling and becomes more refreshing— that hot, golden disk is gone and replaced by a soft semi-circular light source aka the moon along with all those sparkling stars in the sky.
Well, it doesn’t last long.
Time is too short— you know. With earth moving fast, it takes a few hours to face the sun; that mighty sun— red hot with its oppressive heat, more like a tyrant landlord asking for house rent even before the month ends or the ghost in Srikanta of Sarat Chandra Chattopadhyay that was breathing cold close to Indra’s neck giving him a chill down the spine.
The people working outside always fear the sun shining hot including myself. But thanks to the Almighty, I don’t have to go outside that often except for some personal and obvious reasons, probably to buy something and other stuff like that. Even though I don’t sweat that much, I hate this season, and I would probably curse it if there weren’t those juicy fruits that make me salivate.
Anyway, let’s hope the heat falls soon and a moderate rainfall follows to ease the pain of all those people fasting for the pleasure of Allah. As the season of harvesting comes near, let’s hope it becomes easier for all those hard-working people to go through this without major discomfort. Ameen.
