This sign pretty much says it all...
As the city council proceeded with the meeting. It did not take long for a unanimous decision of the five city council member to extend the Conditional Land Use and Building Moratorium. Looks like our dream house is another 6 months possibly a year away and we will revisit the subject in January to see if they will let us move forward. Even though my wife would be a 7th generation homeowner in this small town there isn't enough pull.
There was a small glimmer of hope when the Mayor announced that they had previously issued 2 building permits that they were going to honor. However, they implemented a deadline of September 1st to break ground. If they have not broken ground by the deadline then they will forfeit the permit and it will then come available to others. One of the two has made progress the other has not. As the days tick down to the deadline, my wife is holding on to the some hope that the other permit will come available. Forever the optimist I guess. The mayor pulled my father in law aside and did say that if we secure a written statement from the land owners that they wouldn't build until after the ban was lifted we could get a green light. W need to get to work on that as a possibility.
On a side note I bought my wife a Powerball ticket. Fingers crossed that hits, $260 million would really help us out right now.
Have a good one. Q
