I just acquired a Korg Wavestate synthesizer and am sharing my first little run through video.
This synth is rather different than your typical subtractive or additive synthesizers, although it does have typical features such as envelopes, filters and LFOs. This uses wave sequencing synthesis, something first heard on the 90s Korg Wavestation. This enables evolving and layered sounds, as it can cycle through many different waveforms, which can greatly change the timbre.
I am certainly no expert on this synthesis style, as i only recently have been researching it-and only played it about 15 minutes before this video, but i did become quite enthralled with its sound. in fact, i haven't read the manual so i am just messing around, learning as i go!
I start out with a couple patches i made, then scroll through a bunch of preset sounds- then i end by randomizing parameters and seein? what she will do!
Definitely am looking forward to sequencing this from the octatrack and seeing what can be done!...i hope to enjoy this one for many moons to come.
