Don't try to be who you're not to please people or your in-laws when married, that's eye service.
I always tell people be who you're don't let the behavior of other change the good person in you..
Don't go doing things in the form of eye service to please especially your in-laws is something you might not be able to keep up with after marriage.
Personally, i don't do things to please people but I do it because it is what the Bible says..
People at times don't understand me except they come close to me ,then will know me for who I am.
My heart is a heart of gold and I can't even hurt a fly..I can go to any length to help people.
But I am a direct person, determined, hard working lady I don't depend on anyone,I am someone I fight for what I believe..
You need to be patient with people and ignore a lot of things.
Respecting your in-laws is the best thing you can do for your spouse but, don't go to the extent of pretending or doing eye service so they will say you're good.
Be yourself, let them know this is who you are. If your attitude is bad then work on it.
Don't pretend to be good, while you're like a green snake ready to bite any members of your husband's family.
In such case that's when you hear if you respect me I will respect you.
No, you have to respect and acknowledge them even if you're not respected because, that's what God says you should do.
You might be the agent of change God sent to that family.
Be humble, tolerant amd forgiving towards them. See them as your own family and treat them as such.
So please relate with your in-laws with wisdom, love and respect
