Reunion is a beautiful thing indeed, the joy and happiness derived from meeting with your long time high school friends is a good and pleasant feeling, coming together to enjoy, reminisce and talk about the life of independence and adulthood can be very interesting...
Majority of my high school friends graduated 3 years ago due to early taking of exams but minority of us stayed and completed every class because we felt there is need to take them, that is to say some of my high school friends left before we all could graduate together but there was something that brought us together and that is REUNION...
REUNION is meant to be a memorable thing but my experience with reunion almost went south after i took my time to make sure everything goes well, there were lots of disputes between some people that still lasted for those years, i meant during high school, little did i know that some still carried that bitterness to the reunion...
MY REUNION EXPERIENCE...
It is a fact that i have been to a reunion party before and further more i was amongst the organizers of the reunion, i had to go extra miles to arrange and organize everything, imagine all the stress i had to go through to prepare everything...
I had to go extra miles to get the contact information of some of my high school classmates, i went from pillar to post to get everyone together and at the end my hard work paid off...
I brought everyone together but that wasn't enough because some people's main purpose at the reunion was to tease and cause unrest amongst everyone..
The reunion started off on a good note when we had 15 people present, these 15 people were my high school friends, the ones i took my SSCE and also graduated with 2 years ago, the reunion had to take place early because of those who left us years before we graduated...
The reunion took place last year, 20th of august 2021 to be precise, after talking and smiling with those 15 people because i was the host of the reunion, the remaining half started to arrive and i meant my real gees, the ones i started with initially before they all left me to finish all by myself..
Immediately they arrived, we all sat down and greeted each other beautifully, it was a warm and noisy welcome from me to the others, i greeted everyone like the good old times and that made everyone laugh and smile..
As the host of the party that was what i could do to make everyone lighten up their mood a bit and the event commenced immediately...
We started off by asking each other's well being and how well we all did in the SSCE we did a year ago, most of them were reluctant to reveal their results because they failed and that was understandable, but why can't the people who passed shared their results also???
I realized some people were not too comfortable because they are seeing some new faces and some people's dressing were out of this world and they felt quite intimidated and oppressed..
I decided to change the whole situation by suggesting a game we all were comfortable with and that was a game of TRUTH or DARE but mine was in another dimension...
I wrote all the truth or dare questions myself and placed them in a paper and to make things easier for every one i had to write the numbers in a piece of paper, the number ranges from 1-50 but each number exists twice and anyone who picks the same number will have to ask each other the questions they picked from the paper box, be it TT, TD or DD..
I explained the rules and regulations to everyone and the fine involved, the game started and we all chose from the number box and questions started flowing in and hilarious answers were been given and also the big guys amongst us paid the fine of #1000 for every unanswered question..
The game kept on going as partners keeps on changing and different questions were being asked and there was this particular question that was asked between two frenemies, these people really had a lot of disputes in the past that lead to the disagreement of higher grade...
They parted ways before reconciling and luckily for me they chose the same number and they are to ask each other questions, the girl had to change the question i wrote because she wanted to know why the guy disliked her and that made her change the question...
The guy was suprised that she remembered what happened years ago and it was a must to answer, the question was like this:
WHAT WAS THE CRUELEST THING YOU DID IN HIGH SCHOOL AND WHO WAS THE VICTIM ??, the guy could not remember and then the girl asked him why he always on her matter, always finding fault in her and making her feel unloved, she asked him all this and he was compelled to answer her...
Guess what?? the guy confessed to us there that back then he had feelings for her and that he liked her but she wasn't seeing him the same way and seeing her interest in other guy made him to start acting that way and that lead to the way he treated her...
We all shouted and hit the table with a crazy sound and as the host i added some craziness to it, the guy was humble enough to apologize to her and to make sure she forgives him deeply, he transferred #7,000 to her that moment and we all saw it and said woow..
I had to end the game after that question before everyone started their own lolz, a question popped up and that was " how come she still remembered what happened years ago ???" ..
The girl answered and said she didn't forget that incident because it is a pain for her to forget and as she saw him today, the question just kept on bugging her, she wanted to know why he changed towards her and that was why she had to ask and now she is happy to know...
In summary, the reunion was fun filled and eventful, there were lots of airtime and cash giveaways...
the reconciliation between those two, the happiness and the laughter we all had that day was something that stood out in my memory till today, i won't lie i collected money that day for my host job, the big guys really spent on me after i hailed them and forced their pocket..
In conclusion, the reunion was indeed a good and beautiful memory, misunderstandings were solved thanks to my game and we made enough to clean the location we used and that was something memorable and outstanding.....
