It all started a very long time ago, I hated it with passion and on no day would I go surviving a full day without hating my teacher for one or two reasons either because of his strict punishments or because of his bulky notes and unattractive handwriting, I just don't know why but I think it is because of everything I have seen over the years when it comes to working as a teacher...
Teaching is one of the most less paid occupation in my country, it is different in the public sector since teachers are being paid by the government but when it comes to the private sector, teachers are paid less to what they worth which is a discouragement to other individuals who wants to survive through teaching in private schools...
Well well well these were my thoughts when I was still a student, I have seen all the hectic and bulky things my teachers have had to do and because of how choked they are, they made us detest the profession with all the veins in our body...
If you were to ask any youth or child of this modern age and time if they would love to become a teacher in the future, their first answer will be no because we all have gotten the wrong view of how it works but when we start growing up, we start realizing teaching is actually fun especially when you have adequate facilities, good and conducive working space and a very understanding and friendly boss who is always after the well being of not just the school but also the teachers of the school, this makes teaching fun and enjoyable...
I remember my junior secondary school days lol, during a heart to heart session with our English teacher, we all were asked some questions regarding our future ambition and occupation lol, can you imagine out of 30+ plus students, nobody went for teaching as a future occupation lol, our teacher was like; does no one wants to be a teacher like me???, we all looked away and gave a weird reaction to it...
He laughed and said one day you all will understand better why teaching is fun and by that time, you all will love teaching more than anything, we all called it a bluff in our heads and that was how that session passed...
Years later we all graduated into senior secondary class and it was at this time we all started finding our true calling and purpose and slowly we started grasping favorite subjects and hated subjects lol...
Senior secondary students don't have it easy in all form oh, I knew this when I entered SS1 and I was told we all would be taught all the three departmental subjects to make us find our choice of departments and not doing follow up because our best friend is in a particular department and because of play and unseriousness, you followed him or her and at the of day you end up finding it difficult to cope with the subject combinations of that department lol, it wasn't advisable to do something like that back then...
As time goes on, I found out both my strength and weakness after taking combined subjects for a year, I came to a conclusion that science department was my calling and that was how my journey began as a scientist 😂😂😂💻💻💻😁😁😁, I never knew what I signed up for until I started advancing and I saw how truly was a science student...
Year one went by so fast, year two and year three and soon after I graduated high school and guess what???, I ended up as a teacher lol, the profession I detested so much back in high school some how found its way into my life and back then I had no choice than to take up the job because it was the only one available at the moment and as a teenager I needed to start saving up my personal needs and expenses...
I love high school so much that I wished high school was more than three years lol but it was all a wish and nothing more, i was very good with practical related subjects back in school, in junior high school, I was very good with basic science, basic technology, physical and health education, mathematics and english, in high school I was good at economics, marketing, biology, chemistry and english, I stopped loving physics the moment it got harder and that was around SS2 first term, I had poor physics teachers and at some point it seemed too complicated and now I hated it more than mathematics, the calculating aspect of physics gave me headache several times but I was still bombing my way out and I was getting a good grade up until I graduated high school...
High school was very fun and interesting when mathematics, physics and organic chemistry wasn't involved lol, these subjects gave me sleepless nights back then but I have decided to never give up, it's a cross I must carry on my own to be successful in life...
In summary, the above introduction is just a drive in to what I am going to be talking about today and that is based on that particular subject I would teach in school if I was to be a teacher 😂😉😂...
ECONOMICS IS THE KEY👏✋👌...
If there is one particular subject that I know and am very sure that I can take without flaws, it is only the subject economics, i started loving economics the very first day I stepped my foot into high school class, if you followed me up from above, I said it up there that I was fortunate enough to be taught all departmental subjects when I entered SS1, I was taught science subjects, art subjects and commercial subjects and amongst all these subjects, economics and I had this immediate, deep and strong bond and connection on the very first day and that was how economics and I started bonding well until I became a guru in economics...
Economics was very very simple and easy to understand, I was taught economics by one of the very best teacher in the world, he was sound and excellent in teaching economics, he broke down the basics of economics in a way that even the most dullest student would understand, he explained economics in a lame man terms with several demonstrations when the need arises just to make sure all we were taught sticks to our skull and his method worked magic and wonders...
I came to love economics right from the onset, I became interested the more when I was taught the introduction to economics, these topic was fascinating, this was where I was taught the different definition of economics and different propounders of these definitions...
He gave the definition by Adam Smith, Alfred Marshall and the one of Lord Lionel Robbins, these men gave different definitions of economics in their time back then but only one definition was fully accepted by the world because it fully emphasized on how the human mind works, that is to say it emphasized more on the study of human behaviour...
Here is a quick brush up on what I was taught in high school by my economics teacher;
Economics can be defined as "the inquiry into the nature and causes of the wealth of nations by Adam Smith"...
Economics can be defined "as science which studies human behaviour as a relationship between ends and scarce means which have alternative uses, this was defined by lord lionel Robbins and it is the most acceptable definition world wide" ...
These definitions were explained and broken down to the core for us back then to understand better and as we further more I got to know more about economics and I found it as one of my best and strength filled subject and I am confident of my teaching skills when it comes to economics...
WHY ECONOMICS???🤔🤔🤔
Hmmmm the why has been answered several times in the upper body of my post but I would love to still spell it out to my audience that economics is my favorite subject in high school and it is one of my most high scoring subject back in high school...
I would love to teach economics not just because it is my favorite subject but because it has something more to it than it meets the ordinary eye...
Economics is full of histories and stories and from this stories we get to relate more with how our fellow humans operate when it comes to our wants and needs, it teaches more about how to utilize every of our resources readily made available to us to the best of our ability...
You should hear the history of the ASIAN TIGERS, oh my God😵 you would be stunned at what all the details it entails on this topic is one of my favorite in economics including national income, utility, population inflation and deflation😁...
With the knowledge of economics, there will be great development in the world and not just to the nation or to the world at large but to oneself, when we talk about satisfaction and utility, economics is the fundamental and basic step to understanding the human behaviour...
I just love economics because of all these beautiful facts and discoveries I have made over the years and I would love to impact this same knowledge into the new generations and also in the one coming because, there is no life without economics as its foundation...
In summary, I am sure you all would understand better if you take time to learn and read more about the introduction of economics...
In conclusion, it is either economics or nothing because it involves our daily lives in general and without economics, there will be no budgeting or national income in the world today...
