How We can Engage Children into Computer Science and STEM
In the realm of logic, the world is binary. Everything can be deduced down to ones and zeros along with logical operators that yield even more ones and zeros. For some, this might be reason enough to encourage people of all ages to learn how to program. For me, however, this mission goes much deeper than the logic I work with on a regular basis. As a computer engineer on his way to graduate school, I have experienced all sorts of logical challenges both in the workplace and in the classroom. I believe these problems are unifying because they apply to all walks of life. By introducing programming to children in school, we can form a stronger community and connection in the world of technology. In my opinion, teaching children computer science would not only provide a new potential career, it would allow them to relate to others in a new way by giving them a new way of thinking.
