A NASA satellite had found a strange magnetic disturbance from a region in Western India. On closer inspection, this region turned out to be completely barren apart from one lake greenish in color. Given by the geographical characteristics of this region, such a lake with an abnormally large composition of magnetically oriented materials doesn't quite fit in. Further Investigation has resulted in the findings that a meteorite should have impacted in that region some 50,000 years ago. Meteorites, typically, tend to contain minerals which have good magnetics properties, and they might be responsible for the belts of high magnetic disturbance sending compasses and radars haywire.
