There is an evening market 10 minutes from where I live. I decided to go there, just to have a look. When I was a kid, evening market was great entertainment for me. It's very bright with lots of lights, and there were toys sellers. Much better than black and white TV at home.
This evening market was quite small. There were only about 20 sellers spread out in the area. It's located by the side of the main road, and the sellers were in both side of the road.
I was there about 6 PM, and it was not so dark yet. I had to come before the day become completely dark so my camera still able to take photos.
There mostly food sellers in there. You could find meat balls stall, goat and chicken satay, cassava chips, local mixed ice and mung bean porridge seller, and traditional cakes. I did not buy anything just yet, I just walked in between the sellers with my son and my wife while taking photos.
There was a man who was frying a big wok of fried banana (dipped in oat flour). These fried food is very popular in my country. There more than one sellers I found during my ride here.
There was a girl who was checking a small plastic packet of prawn crackers. And she looked "hungry".
Looking across the street there were more food sellers. Some people stopped and bought takeaway food while still sitting on their motor bikes. Some sat down and just had their food there.
My 7 year old son "protested", we went to evening food market, and not buying any food. And so I had to stopped at a local fried chicken stall for him. He was happy and his brain paused thinking about toys.
Finally, we went to a local traditional Balinese cake seller to get some snack. The seller was a lady whom I believed made all these cakes she sold. There were many different traditional cakes on the table, all mostly made from rice flour and palm sugar. There were also steamed bananas.
I chose some cakes fromt the table. She took the cakes and wrapped them in banana leaves. Later she put another plastic wrapper for us. We did not plan to buy cakes, so we did not bring any bag.
Later in the evening, there were more and more people coming to this market. There were more motor bikes parked by the street which made the parking man got busier. All the food sellers have more customers sitting on front of their stall having their dinner.
And that concludes my little adventure in evening market street photography. Thanks for reading.
