Hello, everyone. I'd like to share with you all how we made pink steamed cake or in our language it's called apem.
My wife likes to experiment with making new cake. Some time we failed, and I don't share the failed cake. Only those that worked.
This time we tried to make apem or the pink steamed cake (I called it). It is a bit similar process with the steamed cake I shared before, but there were few differences.
For the ingredients we used: wheat flour, rice flour, sugar, cake emulsifier, baking powder, pandan leaves, vanilla essence, coconut milk and food color.
At the beginning, we mixed the wheat flour, rice flour, sugar, baking powder, cake emulsifier, vanilla essence and coconut milk together in a basin. We added a little bit water to make it more liquid. We also cut a little bit of pandan leaves and put it into the mix to give it good aroma.
Next, we put the food color to the mix. To mix it well, we stirred so the color of the mix turn pink altogether.
Then we put this liquid mix into little cups. These little cups were then placed in the steamer.
Steaming the cake only needed about fifteen minutes. Once fifteen minutes was over, we opened the steam pan lid. And there you are! We had the pink cake already cook perfectly.
Some cake risen perfectly, some only rise a little bit. But we were quite happy with the result.
So, that's our experiment with the pink cake. Thanks for reading.
