Finding the Edge of the World: A Peaceful Spot in Munduk Village
In Munduk village, just by the road side, there's a place where you can see both Lake Buyan and Lake Tamblingan. Standing on cliff by that side of the road, felt like I was at the edge of the world. Even though it's not really the edge of the world, sometimes it feels like it.
A Fun Idea
When I first found this spot, long time ago, I used to joke with myself and my clients that it was the "edge of the world." It was a fun way to imagine being at the end of everything, even though I knew it wasn't true. The reason I call it that is because there's a platform where you can stand and see the forest, the lakes, and the hills at the distance. It's like you're at the very edge, with nothing but a forest, the two lakes and a blue sky stretching out in front of you.
A Quiet Retreat
I love coming here to relax and enjoy the view. It's a peaceful place, and even though there's a shop nearby, the road is quiet, so it's nice and calm. Sometimes, I bring my clients here, and we have fun taking pictures and joking around.
On my last visit, there's a man nearby who offers to take photos with animals like his pets: a yellow phyton, an iguana and fruit bats. It adds a bit of excitement to our visits, and some of my braver clients enjoy getting their picture taken with the animals.
More Than Just a Spot
Even though it's not really the edge of the world, this place is special to me. It reminds me that adventure can be found anywhere, even in quiet corners of Munduk village. So, if you ever visit, be sure to stop by and enjoy the view. Who knows, you might discover your own edge of the world—and have a little fun along the way.
Yes, who knows.
