There are 150 Sanctuary in india. Some of the animals found in these sanctuaries are not fount anywhere in the world.
Tourists all over the world visit our country to see them.
Lions are found in Gir forest of Gujarat and Royal Bengal tiger are founds in Sunderbans delta in west bengal.

There are only 1411 tigers left in india today. In order to save them project tiger was started in
1973 from the corbett National park in uttarakhand.
Elephants are the largest land animals.
Sometimes weigh as much 5900kg and live up to 70 years.
They drink about 180 litres of water and eat 150 kg of food.
In 1973 the villagers especially women in the alaknanda valley in uttrakhand hugged trees in the forest so that they could not be cut the woodcutters who has been hired by contractors.this care is known as the chipko movement. Its leader was sunderlal bahuguna.
