In these days that have been so convulsed in my family, because of the reappearance of my sister's illness and in which I have felt that I am losing my serenity at times, I remembered some words that my mother used to say: "whenever you feel sad, try to think of the happiest moments that you have lived".
Well, I began to remember last January 2020, when the whole family went to Boca de Uchire, Anzoátegui, Venezuela to the Sonho Meu Inn, where we would celebrate as a family, the marriage of my niece Michelle.
To go together, we rented a bus so that we could all enjoy ourselves, without having to drive there or back, since the trip from Caracas takes about 6 hours.
Of course, if you go in your own car, you get there faster. But for safety reasons, the unit we were in had to maintain a prudent speed. On top of that, the road blocks along the way make the trip slower.
Boca de Uchire, is a small coastal town in the east of the country, with just over 12,000 inhabitants. Its beaches are delicious and the sun is inclement.
On the bus we were laughing, singing, sometimes we fell asleep and that's how we were. Here's the new bride, with her brother.
That day, the sun was hot, delicious. It was giving a warm welcome to all of us.
On that dirt road you see in this picture, is the entrance to the place where the inn is located where we would spend that wonderful weekend. There, the WiFi signal is non-existent and the mobile data is conspicuous by its absence.
Well, it was an excellent moment to forget about the real world and immerse ourselves in the love, joy and celebration that those days were opening for us.
Once past the dirt road, you find yourself, with a picturesque inn, full of beautiful photographs and colors and a guitar-shaped pool.
To get to the beach, you have to walk a little bit, approximately one kilometer along a sandy path. But when we got there, just the sound of the waves, the small huts where we sheltered from the sun, charged us with positive energy.
The next day, the ceremony took place. A ceremony charged with magic, emotion, happiness and joy. Many tears were shed.
And these are those memories my mother was talking about. Yesterday, I felt so horizonless, so scared and sad. That's why I started to rescue those moments that have given me happiness and today I see everything with positivity, with courage.
I have reason to be happy. Just by looking at these photos, seeing the beautiful family I have, I can be satisfied. The rest, I know that we will overcome it together, as always.
As John Lennon once said: "Life is what happens to you while you are busy making other plans. "
