I have always believed that tears exist to express two kinds of feelings: sadness and happiness.

But that day, I discovered that it goes much further.

Being there, facing the sea, surrounded by our family and close friends, breathing our country, seemed surreal.

As they said their vows and the ceremony was officiated, tears were streaming down every face that I'm sure no one could contain.

But why, if we were not sad, why if we were not laughing either?

I think I have part of the answer...

How else can your body express the great love that was felt at that moment?

The admiration I felt when I saw Michelle and Joel become each other's sword and shield.

The pride in everything they've accomplished together.

The humility that also demands that they recognize their faults and that the mistakes are corrected.

The love that exists in each of them, to give it to the other.

Today, two months after that special day, I lack words to express what I felt, because honestly, I still don't understand it.

I only know that this has just begun and that life will give us countless moments together, either here in Venezuela or there in Barcelona, Spain, where this beautiful couple met and has built their lives.
