During the first Covid lockdown I got very bored. I was running choir on the Zoom conferencing platform and so I thought I could hold some open mics on Zoom too. My friends came along to join in, including @steevc,
@todayslight and
@daniellemurray. The quality of the connection wasn't always great as Zoom isn't intended for music. It kind of suqeezes any musical sounds that you try to put through it. It worked out better for many people to produce a video to play through Zoom, rather than live performances. I'm not sure why, but it doesn't seem to cause the same issues when it's a prerecorded music track.
I had never made any kind of video before, let alone one with music involved but it seemed like a good idea to learn how to do it, so I taught myself to the best of my ability.
This was probably the most complex video I made and I am by no means a video making master but I enjoyed doing it. I based this cover of the song 'You're Gonna Make Me Lonesome When You Go', on the jazz version, by Madeleine Peyroux. It's actually a song by Bob Dylan but I'm not a Bob Dylan fan...at least not of his singing voice anyway. His song writing is something else though. He always wrote great lyrics. I hope you enjoy it.
