The theme of 'Emotions' this week give me lots of scope but I decided to record a song I first heard just before Christmas 2020 called 'All You're Dreaming Of'.
Despite the singer being Liam Gallagher, who in my opinion, does not really have the right voice quality for a ballad, it moved me to tears upon first hearing it. Most songs do not evoke a strong emotion in me like that. I sat there sobbing alone on my sofa, after what had been a very lonely year for so many of us after Covid hit the world.
It has the most beautiful chord sequence and melody and the words have this wistful quality. It was in fact marketed as a charity Christmas song and the video has snow and a brass band. It is really about longing for love and has no yuletide associations at all. It reminds me very much of John Lennon's song 'Real Love'...the sentiment behind it is the same and the overall feeling is very similar.
Thank you for giving my version a listen.
Here is the original video in case you feel like watching it.
and here is the link for the John Lennon song I mentioned. See if you think they are similar.
