THE LAST DRAWING
I started doing this drawing 5 years ago, but that day I was drawing it, certain circumstances occurred that greatly affected my life, so much so that I stopped studying at the academy where I was practicing the art of drawing. I remember that that night, September 14, 2015, my two older brothers took my father to the hospital in an emergency, because for several days he had been having discomfort in the body, to be more specific he had gallbladder pains, as they already were Very strong pains took him as soon as possible to a hospital, which can take 40 minutes to get there by car. I stayed at home because I had to take care of my mother who was disabled and for that reason she couldn't stay home alone. Since I did not have a telephone at that time I was isolated from my brothers and therefore I did not know what was happening with my dad, my head was full of worries, to clear my mind a bit I started drawing, I spent the whole morning drawing that face You can see it in the picture, but my head was still a mess, around 6 in the morning I decided to go to sleep for a while. At 9 in the morning that day my brother came to the house and wakes me up to tell me to go to the hospital so that my sister could come to rest. And so it was, I got up, took a bath and without breakfast I left, my brother gave me her cell phone so that I could call my sister when I got to the hospital. I had no idea of how to get to that place, but that didn't stop me from going to that hospital. When I arrive I see my sister and I notice that she was very tired, I approach her and ask about my father, she only told me that he was inside the hospital and they had not treated him yet, but they did not let anyone pass. I approached the entrance and started talking to some national guards who are the ones who guard that hospital, talking to them they liked me and they let me in, in the first room that said emergencies I see my father sitting in a wheelchair, I approach him and ask him how he feels and when he saw me he was surprised because he did not expect that I was going to be there in that place, or perhaps what he imagined was that he was not going to last that long in that hospital as for me to have gone up; He told me that I was thirsty and I quickly went out to buy some water, when I returned they had already let in my sister who was doing some tests for my father, in that process of moving around looking for where to do medical studies, I noticed that my father was suffering a lot although he tried to hide it, but it was still something notorious, on one occasion we were going to take an exam that I don't remember what it was, but I know we were waiting, standing in line because there were several people also waiting for that same exam, we were He and I alone, my sister had gone to buy some things that were needed, at that moment my dad told me to help him get comfortable in the chair because the pain was already unbearable, I started to pick him up, but he screamed in pain and I asked a firefighter who was there to help me lift him up, but again my dad stopped me because of the pain, the firefighter told me to go and take him to the emergency room because he was a case that had to be dealt with urgently Of course, I pay attention to him and take him to the emergency room, there in that place so as not to say that medical negligence was noticed, let's say that the doctor's attention was a bit slow and there were several people before us, we spent half an hour waiting for our turn to come at that moment my sister arrived and began to explain the situation to the doctor, I see my dad and I notice his lost gaze and he did not move, I begin to move and call him by his name, but now It was late the doctor got up, examined him quickly and told me let's take him quickly for resuscitation and so we did, we ran through the corridors of the hospital to the resuscitation room with my father's body in a wheelchair, but it was too much Later, my father had passed away, I saw my father die and I couldn't do anything else for him. After breaking the news to my sister and seeing her cry, I hugged her, something I had never done in all my life; the fingers of my hands were stiff, I could not move them, there were some people who grabbed my sister and comforted her trying to calm her down, I left the hospital, I walked to a remote place and there I exploded in tears, my father had died and even That was when I was able to accept it. I remember that a woman got off a bus at that moment, approached me and hugged me, a gesture that I will never forget. All this story that happened to me made me withdraw a lot from art and today I want to share it because it is time to accept everything that happened and overcome those psychological traumas that do not allow me to move forward in life.
