In the previous session, I focused on collecting a massive mountain of accumulated taxes and optimizing our treasury system. Armed with that fresh influx of cash, I knew exactly how to put those resources to work in this session.

Right at the start, I used that money and our stockpiled resources to tackle a massive, much-needed wave of structural repairs across the entire village. I went around fixing an enormous number of buildings, including residential houses, hunter's cabins, storage warehouses, and even our churches. I started out spending a moderate amount of Talers, but as I kept repairing and repairing, the maintenance costs steadily piled up. To cover these mounting expenses, I quickly called upon the traveling merchant and sold off a surplus of goods produced in our workshops and farms.

However, every single coin spent was entirely worth it. By the end of the renovation drive, all our buildings regained a pristine, sturdy appearance. More importantly, this mechanical overhaul brought massive gameplay benefits: the happiness of the townnies shot up significantly, their overall productivity improved, and with the structures back in optimal condition, the random probability of devastating fires or sudden building collapses dropped to a minimum.

Consequently, maintaining a hardcore settlement is not just about expanding into new territories or building grand cathedrals; it is about preserving what you have already built. Letting infrastructure decay is a death sentence in this difficulty mode, so keeping our maintenance game strong is essential for long-term survival.

Nevertheless, reaching chapter 50 feels incredible. Our village is wealthier, happier, and structurally safer than ever before. With the restoration complete, we are ready to set our sights on the next big expansion phase. See you in the next chapter!

En la última sesión me encargué de cobrar un montón de impuestos acumulados y de gestionar el rendimiento de los tesoreros. Armado con ese buen botín de monedas, sabía exactamente en qué debía invertir los recursos en esta ocasión.

Justo al empezar, utilicé ese dinero y varios materiales almacenados para llevar a cabo una enorme y muy necesaria ronda de reparaciones en toda la aldea. Me puse a arreglar una gran cantidad de edificios, incluyendo casas residenciales, cabañas de cazadores, almacenes e incluso las iglesias. Comencé gastando una cantidad moderada de taleros, pero a medida que iba reparando y reparando, los costos totales aumentaron considerablemente. Para cubrir estos gastos de mantenimiento, le vendí un par de bienes producidos en la aldea al mercader ambulante que acababa de llegar.

Sin embargo, cada moneda invertida valió totalmente la pena. Consecuentemente, mantener un asentamiento en modo hardcore no se trata solo de conquistar nuevos territorios o levantar grandes monumentos, sino de preservar lo que ya has construido. Dejar que la infraestructura se deteriore es una sentencia de muerte en esta dificultad, por lo que cuidar el mantenimiento es vital para la supervivencia a largo plazo.
