Hello Hive Gamers! Today I bring you the twenty-first chapter of my campaign in Great Conqueror 2: Shogun. In this session, I found myself brutally forced to improvise on the fly during a disastrous clash against the Nagao clan over the control of South Shinano.

The Nagao clan had just snatched the very fortress I intended to rip away from the dying Takeda clan, so without wasting a single second, I went straight to the diplomacy menu to declare war on them. That aggressive decision ended up costing me dearly: the Nagao hosts immediately retaliated, ambushing and completely obliterating one of my advance units while dropping the morale of my katana samurai infantry and my main cavalry unit—led personally by my clan leader, Saito Yoshitatsu—straight down to absolute zero! This situation was terrifying; when a unit hits 0 morale, they become entirely defenseless and paralyzed right in the face of enemy onslaughts. Without thinking twice, I scrambled a light cavalry unit stationed near the Shinano battlefield to race to the rescue of my trapped main forces, while another katana samurai unit rushed up from behind. Even though a heavy Takeda cavalry unit was still lurking nearby in the border forests, I decided to completely ignore it and instead pushed fresh Yari Ashigaru infantry and archer units at full speed along secure roads controlled by my friendly Matsudaira allies to reinforce the front.

To make matters even more intense, the primary enemy cavalry unit spearheading this counterattack is commanded by none other than Nagao Kagetora, the formidable leader of the Nagao clan himself! Right now, I am frantically trying to reorganize my shattered lines and lick my wounds following the total defeat I suffered at the very start of this offensive. I can only hope the Takeda cavalry doesn't take advantage of this chaos to launch a surprise raid on my capital; however, I thankfully still have enough banked resources to hastily raise a defensive garrison at home if the worst comes to pass. We will see how I survive this mess!

¡Hola Gamers de Hive! Hoy les traigo el vigésimo primer capítulo de mi campaña en Great Conqueror 2: Shogun. En esta ocasión me vi forzado a improvisar por completo en medio de un combate desastroso contra el clan Nagao por el control de Shinano del Sur.

El clan Nagao se había adelantado tomando la fortaleza que yo planeaba arrebatarle al clan Takeda, así que, sin perder un segundo, fui a declararles la guerra en el menú de diplomacia. ¡Una decisión que me salió bastante cara! Las huestes del clan Nagao arremetieron de inmediato contra mis tropas, eliminando por completo a una de mis unidades y reduciendo a cero la moral de mi infantería samurái con katana y de mi unidad de caballería, la cual es dirigida personalmente por el líder de mi clan, Saitō Yoshitatsu. Esta situación es crítica: con 0 moral, las unidades se quedan completamente indefensas e inmóviles ante los ataques enemigos. Sin pensarlo mucho, movilicé rápidamente a una unidad de caballería ligera cercana al campo de batalla de Shinano para rescatar a mis tropas principales, mientras una unidad de samuráis con katanas venía en camino desde más atrás. Aunque la peligrosa caballería pesada del clan Takeda seguía oculta en los bosques de la frontera, tomé el riesgo de ignorarla para enviar más infantería Yari Ashigaru y arqueros a toda velocidad por los caminos seguros bajo control de mis aliados del clan Matsudaira.

Para colmo de males, la principal unidad de caballería enemiga está liderada en persona por el general Nagao Kagetora, el mismísimo cabeza del clan Nagao. Apenas estoy intentando reorganizar a mis tropas tras la dolorosa derrota inicial de este asalto; ya veremos cómo salgo librado de esto y espero que la caballería Takeda no decida atacar mi capital aprovechando el caos. ¡Al menos tengo suficientes recursos guardados para armar un ejército defensivo en casa si la situación lo amerita!
