We assume you are speaking about the sky but then realize you are referring to the coffee steam or both ... haiku appear in the steam

The less beats you need to make the haiku is usually considered the mark of skill and not so much the 5/7/5. Japanese is a phonetic language when spoken and pictorial when written. Just my opinion but I think 5/7/5 rarely serves an English haiku. But it is just my opinion. Then there is hokku ... lol. My advice ... write the poem you like the most.
