My Satellite, At Conception

IMG_7820.jpeg

once around
a twirling, soaring
helical solaris

number three
on the call list

bonded
to my satellite
we do-si-do down
the never-ending
whirl-pool

how many
moons
hold hands
with the soil
dual palmed

grit and silk
wind and water
exfoliation
erosion

a night time
soul mate
my star shadow

always showing
your best face

a waltz
a paso doble
a fingerling
shimmy

a tidal lock

couldn't do this
without you
my satellite

no, I am yours

my twin separated
at conception

keep your
distance
maintain identity
rule my tides
