The past few days I've been pondering on my current fitness situation which has occurred to me that i've been lacking some good amount of exercises because i've either been feeling too lazy to do so or it's just the theft of time doing her thing once again (procrastination).
One of my most benefits in cycling is exercising the thighs and legs muscles which improves my running and stamina. I don't know about other people but this is how cycling a bicycle benefits me the most. Therefore, knowing how relevant it is to exercise, i decided to refurbish an old bicycle.
The baby you see here is more that 7 years of age and a special gift from my uncle. Unfortunately i abandoned it due to certain reasons and one being school stress, another being that i lost the interest and zeal for a bike.
But somehow the past few days I've had a second thought towards myself and have finally decided to fix this old bike.
And now i'm looking at the estimates towards this even though I barely have enough money to do this currently but i believe planning ahead would help me save up a targeted amount of money.
Here, i was told the Wheels needed to be changed, that'll cost around $30 for both rims, tyres and tubes.
Which is slightly more than what I supposed initially but fine.
I need to get a new seat/saddle because the old one got worn out already.
Saddle cost around $10 to $15 for a brand new.
It's a gear bike and unfortunately only the front gear and rare brake are currently in good condition, having those changed would cost not less than $10 or even more than that.
So far these are the most important items I need to put in place and fix in other to get this baby back up and running again. But at the same time I'm having a second thought and that is the reason for this post.
Should i get a brand new bicycle rather than have this old one refurbished?
Because, looking at the expected announcement of money to be spent on refurbishing the old bike, it is clear that if i should add about $40 to that amount, I can actually get a brand new bike so which of this do you think is better?
Total cost in fixing the old bike should be not less than $60 and a new bike here cost around 80 to 100 dollars depending on the model, type, quality and spec.
Even though I so much love the old bike for the fact that it was a gift from my uncle and i wouldn't want to abandon it plus, i was already used to the bike and i enjoyed it more than any other one out there.
