A lot of people have become slaves to devices they bought with their own money! Many now believe they can no longer survive a day without their phones and other devices. I don't think this is a great place to be.

Yes our phones are portals through which we connect to the world, yes a lot of us make a living using these devices, yes social media is where it's at right now but too much of anything as they say is not good.

I believe you should control your time and activity with your devices and not the other way around. It's too bad that many people waste a lot of time on their devices doing things that are counterproductive. There's a lot of content out there already and much more being created daily that we couldn't consume in ten lifetimes. You should be able to choose what is beneficial for you of the unlimited content and most importantly, how much time you want to spend on them.

I'm not saying technology in my hands isn't great but people lived life to the fullest before there were smartphones. So take charge of your devices, create content and value and don't just spend time consuming! Cheers!

Here's some steps of today's sketch I like to title "Tech Slaves", done as my submission to the #dailydrawingchallenge on the topic "Slave"

I started with the sketch of hands behind bars, grammes in a mobile phone with a graphite pencil

Then I shaded the spaces between the bars with charcoal to create depth and blended with a brush..

I went on to shade the hands bringing life to them and used some of the charcoal already on the paper to fill the bars with some shade too. After that I used a black ink pen to outline the device and separate it from the image it displays.
