Hello friends, here's today's entry for day 10 of the #dailydrawingchallenge on the title "old man".

There's a common saying in Yoruba my language which translates "Even if a young person has more clothes than the old, they can never have as many rags!" This simply means, the experience that the old have acquired over the years can't be bought!
Here's a few progress shots for this sketch...
I started with the sketch using a 2B pencil, while trying to outline the forms especially the wrinkles
I blocked in the forms with the 2B to create depth and differentiate between the values. I also made a little background to bring out the whiteness of the beard
I then darkened the darker areas with 5B and 7B pencils to give more life to the image with dynamic range
