I think Steem is massively undervalued right now and I really believe it is up to hit the 1 billion $ marketcap pretty soon. Now that Monero and Dash have finally gone to the billion, it's really time for Steem to do the same.

The recent massive price increases in the top 20 cryptos have left Steem out of it. We are 23rd at this point, but pretty much we have the most undervalued currency pretty much in the top 50 coins. Even things like Komodo which I start to like more and more, have gone up massively recently. Maybe Factom and Augur is also undervalued, but not many things else in my view.

So let's face it, according to steemitblog@steemitblog, we will have massive good news upcoming. We will have a redesigned UI which I have been begging for at least 1 year, where they say that the user experience will be better. I hope the website will be quicker too with a more elegant interface, that is what front end devs are about.

They have also said something about a mobile App which is really a bare minimum in this mobile age. Social media is on all mobile phones so why not add Steemit too.

This will bring even more massive value for Steemit, while Steem is already undervalued, I hope the market will reprice it to a more accurate value.

Then there is this news that came out recently:

Basically making the Steemit login process secure, possibly 2FA and things like that. Yeah this can help many many people. I personally like the current login system, I don't use 2FA, but there can be many people that could especially if they don't know how to secure their computer. A 2FA can help your average Steemit user, so all of the better, more convenience and ease of use.

In short I think Steem is up to a big ride to the heavens, it is really time for Steem to rise in price too to the level and fame that it deserves in the crypto community.

Steem vs Steem Power vs SBD

New users or existing users might be confused about the currency system that we have here. I have already detailed earlier that SBD can mostly be used as a hedge when the crypto markets go down relative to the USD, it's perfect and it can save you from cashing out into fiat in that case.

So it all comes down to Steem vs Steem Power. Well the incentives are clear:

  • Steem for quick-term trading or if you value accessibility and mobility of your funds better
  • Steem Power for long term investing (usually for a 1 year timeframe in my view since it takes like 13 weeks to power down, it's not worth powering up if you are investing in things for a shorter timeframe), and SP is also used for curation, so if you want to curate stuff, you will need SP.

So it's really your choice what you want to store your stuff in. The ecosystem is really genius, dan@dan and ned@ned have been very smart about setting it up the way they did. We both have a safe haven SBD and a short/long term currency pair for traders and investors with different risk or timeframe appetite.
