This is a two tailed poem; one shows what a smile can do to your enemies (if you act like the sun) while the other tells you never to give up despite the challenges you face in life; the rain will surely come (if you strive). But I implore you to take both sides; smile and strive

I set my eyes up
With hopes to ask for a fill of my cup
My eyes got hit by smiling rays
My hopes began drowning like fading sprays

I looked up again and this time lost the feel of colours
I murmured to myself; why do I strive to get these horrors?
I decided to make me shelters from leaves
I sewed me fresh coats with beautiful sleeves

I felt I'd achieved my fill
But going out to pose to the sun my adorned hill
She smiled again and I lost my dress's beauty
My joy just ignored forever and kissed brutality
In disgust I head home only to find my hut well dried and heated by the same smile
It had lost all the elegance and cutely carved styles
Life, at this stage, became unlivable
It seemed all I needed to win the smile was a miracle

I ignored my drawbacks and decided to deposit my seeds in the soil
This time, I was sure her smile wouldn't hinder my toil
The seeds sprang to better leaves
And just as I was about drowning in joyous beefs
She smiled again and my plants faded towards death
This left me with one more option; just bury yourself in the earth.

Then came the miracle of spring
I rushed out and looked but couldn't find her smiles nor it's sting
I rushed in and back out with my cups
Held it in so much relieve as the rains got them to their tops
I ran to my plants and behold they were awoken
Their dry bones had been revived and made golden
The smile became mine
Her smile only lasted a while but never deterred mine

Though I lost my coats
I had blossomed well to get better ones fill my boats
