No doubt, this year has been a rollercoaster one for me. When I was almost finishing school and when I knew I would be writing the last paper which was in February, I thought it wouldn't be easy because, along the line, I had to conform to what people were saying that life after school is always a tough one.
But do you know something? It wasn't tough for me. Never! It wasn't and that was because of a great lesson I held onto. I can't remember where I saw it but I know I read a book during that period that changed everything for me.
Life after school was sweet and fun for me. I was enjoying my life and living the best of it even without stepping out of my room. Yes, there was food in surplus for me. I was eating, drinking and living my best life which made those around me surprised and asked what was I doing. I told them I am a blogger working from home and some never believed me because they thought I was working somewhere. Those around me knew what I was doing and one thing they understood about me was that I do my things in the best way without being wayward to survive.
I have been living my life independently before I graduated. So, it was never difficult for me. It's once in a while my sister would send something to me and other times, I tell her not to worry about me because I am living fine. She didn't believe me at first because she knew I wasn't working somewhere and I have been alone since I graduated. It was recently she understood what I was doing.
From the beginning of this year, the only person who has always been there for me whenever I need to loan money is my immediate younger sister. She knows I am always paying at the stipulated time and most times, I pay before the due date. She has always been willing and excited to loan me even if I am ready to request a million naira and she knows I will pay it up.
Yes, being intentional made all things work in the best way for me. I never got into debt that I couldn't pay up. God has always been there for me when I call on Him. There has been food that I even give out to those in need etc.
This was because, in everything I do, I was intentional about them. Being intentional in my meaning is doing things in the right way and at the right time. To live a fulfilled and purposeful life, one has to be intentional.
I was being intentional about living all my life independently without depending on anyone. This year has been a wonderful one through blogging. I focused my time online just to save up enough for myself and never to rely on or depend on anybody. If one should trust humans, one will always be disappointed but when you know what is right for you, there is nothing you cannot do or actions (good ones) that you wouldn't sacrifice your time for just to be able to live fine and great.
I was being intentional about my relationship with God. Trust me, no one ever relates with God and is left alone. All my life, each day, I make sure to commune with Him and tell all my problems to Him and He has always shown up for me in numerous ways that I just can't keep mentioning all. My relationship with God this year was the best for me and it can't be compared to the past ones.
I was being intentional about my giving to others who need it. One thing I have always remembered and kept in my mind is that whatever I have with me is not for my consumption alone but to share with others. This is why I am always intentional when it comes to giving and I have never in a day stopped doing that till today. I don't mind sharing the last cent with me because I always believe God will always provide more for me. My life this year has been centered around giving to people.
I was being intentional about my goals. I have many goals that I was able to achieve most of them this year. I know what I want and I never stop reminding myself each day about it. Savings and budgeting were part of my goal this year and right now, I am so excited to get to this stage because I was intentional about it at the beginning of this year.
You will always live a life of happiness when you are intentional about things in your life. Failure to plan one's life means a plan to fail woefully. It is very possible and a must that you achieve your goals when you are being intentional and in the end, you will realize how fulfilled your life is.
I am grateful for the lesson I learnt this year and I will continue in it because being intentional will result in making it big in all areas of your life especially when you put God first in everything you do. I placed God as my priority this year and He never failed me.
With this one great lesson that covers all aspects of many things which I have talked about here, I believe those reading this will be encouraged to put it into practice as we move into a new year in a few days.
