"I am not doing this with you anymore, how can someone like me be seen with someone like you, Jide? You are too poor for my likeness please" Bisi walk out on Jide after she finished shouting at him and she left Jide's room door open. Jide was short of words because everything Bisi said was true. He stood from his plastic chair and walked to close his door which she left open.
He returned inside and said, "Is this the end of four years relationship? Is she truly gone? Why did she even shout at me like that? Everyone in the compound knows that am jobless and my girlfriend left as well" he spoke as if someone was there with him.
While thinking, he slept off.

Bisi and Jide were still in school, Jide was a mechanical engineering student while Bisi is a mass communication student. They both met at the school canteen.
Jide was so hungry after the lecture to the extent that he couldn't focus in the class again so he ran to the canteen and on his way, he wanted to fall but Bisi who was walking beside him quickly helped him. "Oh sorry you nearly fell inside the gutter hope you are fine"
Jide replied, "I am so famished that's why I was too weak to walk but yes am fine" Bisi replied again, "Sorry we can walk together to the canteen since am going there too?"
Jide was so happy because he is a shy type that doesn't know how to talk to a lady and he sees that moment as a blessing for him to shoot his shot.
On their way, Jide stylishly looked at Bisi and accessed her from head to toe. He love what he was seeing but he didn't know how to start a conversation with her meanwhile Bisi was seeing all the moves so she helped him out by saying, "My name is Bisi and you don't have to look me from behind, you can actually take pictures so that you can look at it when you get home" with a smile on her face.
Jide's feet make a tired sound but he couldn't stop walking because Bisi seems to give him some energy so he managed to reply to Bisi back, "I... Am Jide and if you don't mind, we can be friends.
Bisi smiled and replied, "Why not?".
They got to the canteen and ate. After some minutes, they left the canteen and on their way Jide couldn't concentrate, all he was thinking was how to get her contact and when they got to the junction where they will go separate ways to their department, Bisi looked at him in the eyes and said, "can I have your number so that I can thank you for the food".
Jide was happy and quickly brought out his phone and stretch it to Bisi then said, "Thanks for the company".
That was how they became friends and from friends, they became lovers after they graduated Jide couldn't find a job while Bisi has gotten a well-paid job which gives her lots of exposure and then she began to see Jide as an incompetent boyfriend.
3 hours later, Jide woke up from his deep sleep and look around his room, he has only a bed, plastic chair and table, a standing fan, his cooking pot, and gas.
He sighed and said, "What she said was true, I am poor and I think it is right time I do something to this situation so that Bisi can walk back from this same door she left and beg me" he stood from his bed and sat on the plastic chair then began to search the internet for a job.
He sent a CV to some companies and then went out to get something to eat, some minutes later Jide walk back in and take his phone to see if there is any response from the company but there was nothing, Then he said to himself, "maybe I should go and be selling something in the market at least to make feeding money because now that Bisi has left who will feed me?"
But then he dialed Bisi's number to beg her, the phone rang and Bisi pick up, "Hello who is this?" She pretends as if she doesn't have his number again.
Jide was shocked that Bisi doesn't have his number again and she doesn't recognize his voice too so he replied to her, "It was just some hours ago and you have wiped me out completely Bisi. Remember that wasn't what you promised me" Bisi replied with anger, "oh this is what you promised too? Did you tell me you will never take care of me? So please just let me be and when you are capable of having a girlfriend come back to me" Bisi hangs up the phone without listening to what Jide wanted to say. And that was how Jide knew that Bisi is gone out of his life so he let her be.
Some weeks after Jide was on his bed playing a game when his phone rang grin "Oh no who is this fun killer? I was about to win the game" He picked up the call and answered, "Hello who is this" The caller replied, "This is Mathew calling from Obaco Groups and Company, and I speaking with Mr Jide Bernard?"
Jide jumped up from the bed and answered, "Yes this is Jide Bernard" Mathew continue his conversation "You submitted your CV to the company, we have viewed it and we discovered that you are qualified for the post open in our company" Jide answer, "ok sir" Mathew replied again, "you are to come for an interview by Monday"
Jide replied, "Thank you sir" he ended the call. Jide was so happy that finally, he was getting a job. He went for the interview and he was employed and that was how his joblessness ended.
Some weeks later he sent a message to his girlfriend Bisi to inform her that he now has a job. Bisi didn't believe him at first until he send a short video of him in the office.
Later that day Bisi came back to Jide's apartment. She opened the door and stared at Jide on the same plastic chair she left him. Then Jide said, "Come to daddy my prodigal daughter you have been forgiven" Bisi smiled and walk through the same door back into Jide's apartment and back into his life then she said, "am sorry" while Jide stood to hug her tightly and that was how they came back together.
