It was a very sunny Friday and the weather was so hot to the extent that I nearly got roasted inside my room.
I heard a bang on my wooden door so I asked, "Who is there?".
Precious answered, "It's me your friend".
I replied to her, "Come in".
She never mentioned that she had company with her and as I opened the door, the sun ray prevented me from seeing their faces but as the door closed, I stopped to hug Precious without seeing very well, only for me to see Tiana and Queen behind her.
I was ashamed because of the condition they all met me but what can I do than greet and welcome them?
Then I said, "You guys didn't mention that you are outside with Precious".
Tiana quickly replied to me, "Don't you want us here?"
I replied to her, "Why won't I?"
Queen said, "That's not why we are here Dara, we came here to inform you about a fortune teller I believe she can help you out of this messy life you are living".
Immediately Queen said that I look at myself the cloth I put on is almost like a rag and I looked at my room I only have a bed with one single pot to cook, it is really a messy life.
I asked, "Fortune teller? Where because I have never heard of that before".
Precious replied, "She's at the edge of the town that's why you can't know because it's quite far from here".
"Can we go now", I asked and Tiana answered, "Not now maybe tomorrow morning".
After they left I couldn't think of anything than to see the fortune teller and even at night, my eyes were so clear because I couldn't sleep for a second.
Around 8 am, I heard a bang on my door again then I quickly rush out to meet my friends because I needed to know what what's wrong with my life.
We got to the fortune teller as they promised and one beautiful lady came to serve me a cup of coffee. It was warm so I quickly sip it and then realized that I was the only one drinking.
I looked at my friends and Tiana smiled before saying, "It's not poison".
The lady that served me then said, "Don't drop the cup when you are done with the coffee".
I sip the warm coffee again and I felt relaxed as if there was sleeping medicine in it. Within 1 minute, I have finished the coffee because it calms my nerves and more so, I was hungry.
Some minutes later, I was called in with an empty cup of coffee in my hand and when I got in, the fortune teller said, "You may have a seat and drop the cup on the table".
I did as she said and she turned her chair which made a sound as if it was about to break, she looked into that empty cup of coffee for some minutes then she said, "You are a great person but if you don't leave this city you can never make it".
Deep within me, I was thinking that how can I leave the city where I was born, all my friends and family are here, and how do I survive where I don't know anyone?
She replied to what I was thinking in my heart, "The ball is in your court if you choose your friends and family over your life".
Then I got scared that how can she see through my heart and know what I was thinking.
I don't want to think about anything so that she won't know anything else and I don't want to believe her.
"I never asked you to believe me, just do what you think it's best for you", she said to me in response to my thoughts and I realized that she was truly a fortune teller.
