Salvation is the redemption of man from the bondage of sin and liability to eternal death, and the conferring on him everlasting happiness. A simpler way to look at it is this: Salvation is becoming a part of God’s family.
In the beginning God created the heaven and earth, and all things therein. He created man in his own image, in the likeness of sons and daughters. Mankind became corrupt and turned away from God, our true Father. They had turned to darkness and left the family of God.
Through our sins we have separated ourselves from God but He is loving and long-suffering. He made a way for us to come back to Him. For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
Jesus is the Son of God. Jesus was sent to redeem us and to atone for our sins. Through faith in Jesus we are forgiven and cleansed of our sins. By his obedience and perfect sacrifice are we made pure. We are made a new creature in Jesus Christ.
When we have accept Christ we turn our hearts back to God and God accepts us as His children. We have a brother in Christ and a Father in God. We walk in the light of His glory and gain eternal life. Salvation is to be freed from sin and to know and love God.
