Matthew 19:16 And, behold, one came and said unto him, Good Master, what good thing shall I do, that I may have eternal life?
17 And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments.
Jesus was called Good Master but he made it clear that only God is Good. It is important to note that this doesn't mean that Jesus isn't good. We know that Jesus is very good, he is our Good Shepard; And being called good is not reserved to God alone or else how many times would we have blasphemed by calling our our children good. The context is of him being called Good Master or Good Teacher.
Jesus is making it clear that all good comes from God and it is God’s instruction that we are to follow. Jesus came to speak the Word of God and not his own word. God alone is our Good Master. Jesus directs the man to keep the commandments.
Jesus glorifies God in all things and humbles himself before God always. Jesus is not God, but is the man chosen by God to be our Savior. He was born of God and lived in perfect obedience to his Father.
The commandments are God's instruction to man. This is the commandment of God: That we should believe on the name of his Son Jesus Christ, and love one another, as he gave us commandment. 1 John 3:23
