One of my friends here basically belongs to Agra. Agra is a north Indian city that comes in the jurisdiction of state Uttar Pardesh. Agra is famous for the historical monuments like white marbled Taj Mahal and Agra fort. But if we talk about food items, Agra is famous for the Petha mithaayi
Actually this is a combination of two Hindi terms here Petha means Ashgourd and mithaayi means sweets So Petha is the sweets made from white Ashgourd dipped in sugar syrup. Petha mithaayi is my favourite since my childhood, but I have never tried making it at home.
My friend who gone for a vacation to Agraa, brought these sweets for us. So when she returned a few days ago, we met and she gave it to me.
These sweets are delicious, they taste even more delicious when consumed with a glass of cold milk. One more good thing about these sweets is that you can store them for one Or two weeks, they will taste the same. They stay fresh for a long period of time.
