There has always been the threat if infectious diseases to humans and their well-being. Despite all our giant strides in technology and medical breakthroughs, there remains the sharp threat of infectious diseases. So there's a need to understand these diseases so as to be able to effectively prevent these diseases and mitigate their efficacy.

COMMON INFECTIOUS DISEASES

  1. Influenza: Influenza or commonly called "Flu" is a disease that affects the respiratory tracts. It is caused by a virus called "Influenza Virus". This diseases have a range of symptoms which includes : cough , sore throats , runny or study noses , fatigues , etc. This virus is very common amongst Children and the elderly and people with other underlying illnesses.
  1. Tuberculosis: Tuberculosis called TB for short. This is a bacterial infection called by the bacterial "Mycobacterium tuberculosis" . This bacterial affects the lungs and courses severe Coughs , Chest pain , weight loss, Fever , night sweets , etc.
  1. Human Immuno deficiency Virus(HIV)/ Acquired Immune deficiency Syndrome(AIDS): This is a very really disease if not properly managed. This disease targets the Immune system and its ability to resist infections , thereby making the body system prone and defenseless against other diseases. HIV advances into AIDS which is characterized by severe Immune breakdowns.
  1. Common Cold: This creates generally mild symptoms like runny nose , sore throat , and body aches. It is caused by various Viruses; although is causes very mild symptoms , it still persists as a leading cause of illnesses worldwide.

Prevention

  1. Healthy lifestyle : This is by and large the most important aspect of our health. Let's ensure our lifestyle : what we eat , what we wear , rest routine , hygiene , etc. A good and quality food habit helps to improve our immunity , and help replenish vital organs and systems.
  1. Environmental Sanitation: The environment of an organisms is very important for the life of that organism and humans are no different. It is important that we ensure the cleanliness and sanitation of our immediate surroundings. Clearing the waterways , reducing or clearing grasses around the house , ensuring the dishes and room is well kept , etc.
  1. Vaccination: Vaccination helps prevent us from diseases. It is very important that people are vaccinated to improve their immunity against these viruses and bacteria ; some of these diseases and viruses include : polio , hepatitis , rubella mumps,etc.

CONCLUSION

It is very important that we take our health seriously and the key to a good health is actually prevention oriented , so eat healthy , keep your environment clean , take your personal hygiene seriously , go for regular check-ups and exercises.
