Have you ever wondered what your life would have looked like if you had made certain decisions in the past differently?
Earlier yesterday, I was seeing a movie titled Everything Everywhere All at Once, and in one of the scenes it turned out that one of the characters got to see how her life would have turned out if she had refused to run away from home with her husband. Turned out she would have been a very popular movie movie star.
Watching that scene made me think for a while, not because this was my first time thinking about something like that, but just that the movie kind of provoked the thought more than usual.
You see, whenever I'm with my friends and we see a lady stranger walking by, I always say this thing that might sound strange to them. I always tell them that they don't know this yet, but then stopping that stranger to say hi to them or getting to date them or whatever has the potential to change their life and sometimes even their destiny, for better or worse.
And I say this because one person is all it takes for us to make certain decisions differently. A good example was a friend of mine who ended up not taking a job offer because it was going to take him away from someone that he loved at the time. If he hadn't met that lady and fallen in love with her, he probably would have said yes to the job offer, and he probably would have been in a better place financially.
But then, maybe if he had taken the job, he probably could have gotten into an accident one morning on his way to that work and would have lost his life. And personally, I think that's the beauty of this whole thing, not knowing if that decision you ended up not taking would have led to a tragic end or a much more better future.
