Sometimes, I honestly believe that minding your business all the time has to take a certain lack of empathy to be really good at it, and I will tell you why.
A couple of months ago, I had made a blog about a neighbor of mine who had wanted to take a picture of a guy that was cheating on his girlfriend with another lady. It turned out the lady he was cheating on was his friend, and he was upset about it but ended up not saying anything about it.
Well, on that day, both the guy who was cheating and the lady he was cheating with were both having a conversation with a lady who sold food down the street, the same lady who I later discovered was also friends with the lady that was being cheated on.
So basically, the lady who sold food was friends with every single one of them, the whole love triangle.
And while I watched that lady chat and laugh with this other girl yesterday, I couldn't help but feel somehow about it. Because here she was, talking to this girl like everything is fine, meanwhile she knows very well that her boyfriend is openly cheating on her with another lady.
This is why whenever I think about a cool superpower to have, I will always pick mind reading; that way I get to know who people really are. Even though I know that having a power like that would be having to live a lonely life with no friends because, at the end of the day, everyone has something to hide, and you never know when any of those things they're hiding will have a lot to do with you.
But then again, do I blame the lady for not spilling the truth? Of course not. It obviously was none of her business, but someone with a lot of empathy for others probably would have done or said something about it.
