Hello and welcome back to my blog!

We have many DLC maps in theHunter: Call of the Wild. Each year, they release a couple of new ones, and the quality seems to increase with each release. The latest one, which came out about a week ago, has quickly become one of my favorite maps. I've shared some first impressions of it in a different post, along with shots of its beauty. Since then, I've spent more time in this snowy wilderness and hunted many animals. Every part of the reserve I've visited has such good landscapes. Forests, lakes, distant mountains, the dramatic sky during sunset—everything seems much better than the other snow map we had.

I am going to buy it at some point; I still need to get that Nepali reserve. I was hunting in a multiplayer session, and during the sunset, the sky looked absolutely beautiful.

I decided to climb a local hill to get a better picture. It took me quite some time to reach the top, and by then, the sun had already set. However, that doesn't mean it looked bad. I've read that you can see the northern lights in action on this reserve.

From this distance, all you could see were the tall mountain tops. They've done a great job with the mountainous terrain in the game.

During sunrise, this is how the mountains looked. My next target will be to reach the other peak that seems to go as high as the clouds.

This one looks like a volcanic mountain. It would be cool if this was an active volcano; maybe it is... who knows. I'll be going there next. From a distance, it looks like the top is quite flat, and there might even be mountain goats roaming there. I fought one on this hilltop where I was standing.

Do you see how the cloud over that mountain kind of gives an illusion of eruption? That turned out to be a super interesting shot.

Sunsets look amazing in almost all reserves. That's true with this reserve as well. Maybe it's even one of the best-looking ones, or was it the weather conditions that made the lights scatter a bit more?

By now, you must know that I love to take shots with the sun or moon very close to the horizon. And if we have some trees or mountains, then it's perfect.

How about when we have a shallow river and birds flying back to their homes?

alt

Speaking of birds, there seem to be many different species of them on this map. I keep seeing them flying over my head, screeching and screaming when they notice me or hear a gunshot.

I expected it to be snowing a lot during the day with that weather, and it didn't disappoint me. I liked the particle effects during this snowfall. It seems like they've improved the snowfall effects even more. No wonder this game is now more than 100 GB alone. Playing this on a 2K monitor looks gorgeous; imagine playing this in 4K or even a game like this in VR.

This time, the falling snow can settle on the fur of animals too. This helps them blend a little bit better and makes the game feel more realistic as well.

Let me know if you love the snowy map as much as I do. And what are your favorite shots from the post? I love those mountains right after sunset.

Thanks for reading.

Until next shot...
