During my time here, I have noticed several who have gotten angry over being flagged, trolled or ignored. So angry that they revealed their true character by hating so hard they wished it all to burn down around us. Deciding that if they could not have their ideal posting forum (as if such a thing was possible), none of us should be satisfied.

I remember when I first encountered this with one I followed not long after joining. That particular person has threatened to quit many times, and in fact is using a different account now that they have also threatened to quit several times. The whole thing is troublesome, from the perspective of watching people have a meltdown that reveals their true character. Reveals the disdain they hold the rest of us in who had nothing to do with their being upset in the first place.

The latest case, which is what troubled me enough to write this post instead of the one I have been working on, involves a woman who was castigated over the way she conducts herself here on the chain. Questions of conduct regarding how one exposes their child to the internet, etc. Without delving into the issues, or my particular stance on the arguments, I will share that I was aware of who this woman was before everything unfolded and was not a fan nor follower. However, I also bore her no ill will as I shook her from my path and focused on those more aligned with my vision.

But the purpose of this post is not to debate any of the drama that caused the meltdown I am discussing here. The focus here is on how no matter where one goes, there will be those who wish to deprive you of success if they can't have theirs in the ways they demand. These type of individuals don't understand they reveal the selfishness in their hearts, a selfishness such as in this case comes from one who pretended to have others welfare at the forefront of their heart.

I am a firm believer in the idea of watching ones walk, not their talk. I have noticed that in several of these meltdowns I have witnessed, the person in question was very active in cultivating the idea that they were altruistic. A martyr really. All the while trying to collect their following at any cost, and quick to reveal they would have no one getting cookies if they can't get theirs.

I have seen many who throw these tantrums claim they are getting the FBI, or the SEC involved. I'm not sure if they even realize how big of a F you that is to all of us here, but I get it. They would see this whole chain shut down because they are so enraged over their own circumstances. Because for them, it was never about a community. It was never about all of us rising higher together and making something of substance that makes all of our lives better. It was always about them 100%. They never saw what Steem was, only saw the potential of profiting off the backs of others, like the pump and dump mentality dominating exchanges.

In this latest case that prodded at me, these are some of the statements being bandied about.

I will now make sure the whole world knows about this post and the censorship/dictatorship abuse happening on Steem. I also am in the talks with CNN as well as Fox News.

I think it is clear what goal this action would have. While I don't believe anyone at CNN nor Fox is really in talks with her, if this is taking place her intent would be one of damaging this platform, the way Steem blockchain works and a desire to see everything anyone has cultivated here being destroyed.

The sad truth is none of us are any better than slaves on the Steem blockchain.

It is disingenuous to compare being trolled and having your rewards taken to slavery at the mechanisms of the blockchain. Her rant posts a couple memes as well from Rosa Parks and Frederick Douglass. I find it disgusting that anyone could compare being on the receiving end of being trolled and having rewards taken from them to what many in the world have had to endure at the hands of others. I guarantee anyone who has actually been enslaved, or had physical violence perpetrated on them for the crime of existing would gladly trade their chains for block chains.

You are not a slave to this or any other chain, and instead of wishing it to burn down on all of us, why not cut the chains and leave? Unlike those in real situations of violence or enslavement, you can easily break your chains. Here is how.
