We disagree on stance regarding the influence that those of large stake can exert here. While this is not an endorsement of all actions they take, it is the basis of how a stake structure works, and is in alignment with the concept of property rights.
With the upcoming SMT structure, it will allow for any person of resources and intent to structure their own system that would allow or disallow for such a dynamic. It would be possible for any project using the SMT to decide that certain actions are not allowable, or limited in structure. This would however be a constraint on the property rights of stakeholders and the question then to be asked is would those of wealth be willing to invest in that structure?
I know that isn't exactly what you want to hear based on your rep/grey posts. But even here you could always transfer your holdings out and back into a new account and start fresh if you were of a mind to. I'm curious as to why you don't just move on or start fresh, as those of power/property rights here don't seem of a mind to say they should diminish their power for those of less investment (doubting many would wish to erode the benefits of their holdings). This dynamic is exactly what a stake based structure allows, and embodies the true spirit of property rights.
