Happy Monday 🎉 and a very warm welcome to my world 😊. It's a new week and the stepping continued unabated. Please keep reading 👓 as I fill you in on how my day has been including some of the trending stories I came across. As always thank you for being here and let's take it away 💨.
So I had two major walks, starting off early with fast paced morning session. I brisk walked around the neighbourhood. I did enjoy that fresh morning breeze🍃. Then I was back indoors for the usual household chores. later in the afternoon, I stopped by the shopping center then was back home for some cooking followed by the usual nap. In between I did check out some trending news and watched some you tube. Finally I finished off the day with the slow paced evening walk in the cool evening breeze.
So what's been trending. Locally, the usual political shenanigans kept going 😹. Doctors in public hospitals are on a strike, calling for better working conditions and increase in salary.
Globally, another horrendous day unfolded in Gaza. Airstrikes in Gaza city caused a number of deaths😿. The death toll now nearing 32,000😭
Israeli army today attacked Al shifa hospital complex, claiming it was being used as a base by Hamas🙀.
An Al Jazeera journalist was beaten and detained by Israeli soldiers, he was later released.
Isreali solders destroyed broadcast equipment belonging to press teams at Al shifa hospital complex.
On the bright side, talks are underway in Doha Qatar seeking a lasting ceasefire.
Also trending, US president Biden has spoken to Israeli PM Netanyahu, about the situation in Gaza. Biden said a ground invasion in Rafa would be a mistake. However, Netanyahu says Israel must achieve its war objectives🙀.
UN secretary general Antonio Guterez, has said the ongoing famine in Gaza was man made, adding more needed to be done to deliver aid.
Let's go to Europe, Russia trending as Putin led celebrations of the tenth anniversary of the annexation of Crimea🙀. Annexation is a nice word for theft, in 2014 he stole Crimea from Ukraine.
Speaking of Ukraine, the govt is debating mobilizing more men to fight Russia after two years of war. Half a million men are needed ASAP With Putin re-elected we can expect that war to keep going🙀.
Across the pond in the US, fraud trial of British tech tycoon began. Autonomy founder Mike Lynch is accused of fraudulently inflating the value of his software firm.
Also trending, Trump unable to get $464 million bond in New York fraud case🙀. The former president must either pay the full amount in cash or secure a bond to continue his appeal.
Further down, Haiti trending as gangs have taken over the country 🙀. Gun fires always heard, food and water becoming scarce. Haiti needs a good leader to unite people and restore social order.
It will definitely take time, but I don't think things will remain the same💯.
