Happy hump day 😎🎉 and a very warm welcome to my world 😊. As always glad you stopped by this last day of January. Hopefully you have had or are having a great day💯. I am definitely grateful for this day and as it draws to a close, it's time to take a peek into how my stepping went and also share some of the trending stories I came across. Come on, let's dive in 💨.
So as usual I had two major walks just like yesterday, starting off with the fast paced brisk walk around the neighbourhood. Then I was back indoors for the usual household chores and a little bit of resting. The afternoon saw me walk to the shopping centre for some groceries. As always I squeezed in my usual nap before the evening set in. Then it was time for the slow paced evening walk enjoying the cool evening breeze🍃. Meanwhile in between the day I had been watching the trending stories on the news and also a little bit of crypto/twitter. let's dive into that next
Locally, the usual political shenanigans 😹 kept going.
Globally, another horrendous day in Gaza as isreali military continued to target southern Gaza with intense air strikes and ground operations🙀.
Nasser hospital has been under Israeli siege for several days with staff and patients trapped inside😿.
Meanwhile, temporary shelters in north Jabaliya refugee camp were flooded after heavy rainfall these past few days.
Trending in Israel, PM Netanyahu met representatives of families of people held captive in Gaza. He assured them that every effort is being made to secure safe release of all captives.
Across the pond in US, the UN security council was meeting discussing that ICJ ruling that was made last week. The council expressed concern about the dire and rapidly deteriorating conditions in Gaza.
Also trending, CEOs of meta, X and tik tok have been grilled about online child safety at senate judiciary committee hearing. Parents and lawmakers say they the executives are not doing enough to thwart dangers, including sexual exploitation and bullying.
Let's wait and see what changes will be coming to some of those platforms.
