TGiF 🍷🍻 and a very warm welcome to my world 😊. The weekend is upon us yet again and I have had a great day. I am also truly grateful for this day, it's a blessing to be alive 💯. I thank you all of you for stopping by yet again. Time to wrap things up and quickly take a look at how my day has been plus share some trending stories. Let's get it 💨.
So as always my day began with a little bit of stretching then a few rounds of brisk walking around the neighbourhood. That fresh morning breeze🍃 was so wonderful. Then I was back indoors where I rested then got on with the little daily chores around the house. In between I caught up with the latest news and watched some crypto and youtube. My next walking came later in the afternoon getting some errands done at the city centre. Then I was back indoors for the usual nap. I woke up feeling refreshed some time early evening. watched the news then it was time for the sunset walk. As always slow paced around the neighbourhood and park. So that was the stepping and now let's quickly look at what trended in the media.
Locally, the usual political shenanigans kept going😹. Otherwise a nice sunny 🌞 day.
Globally another horrendous day in Gaza as 138 Palestinians are killed in the past 24 hours😿; pushing the overall death toll to over 26,000 dead since October 7😭.
Heavy shelling and gunfire went on in Gaza city and in Khan Younis in the south. Isreali army targeted hospitals and residential areas🙀.
Growing numbers of videos show Gazans with white flags being shot point blank as they try to flee neighborhoods under attack😿.
Also trending, the ICJ in the Hague has issued a historic ruling on the war in Gaza. The court has ordered Israel to take interim measures to stop killing innocent Palestinian civilians. And also to improve humanitarian conditions in Gaza. They however, didn't call for a ceasefire😿.
South Africa had brought the case accusing Israel of genocide🙀.
The genocide case will continue as the court will need more time to rule on whether or not genocide has been committed.
In a rejoinder, Israeli PM Netanyahu called the ruling outrageous and a disgrace🙀. Adding that Israel will continue with the war until Hamas are defeated and hostages freed.
Across the pond in the US, the UN has fired several of its staff in Palestine who were involved in the October 7 attacks in Israel🙀
Also trending, Donald Trump was back in a new York court for his defamation case. The jury has reached a decision that Trump will have to pay Ms Carroll $83 million for defaming her. Pocket change for a self declared billionaire😹.He must be mad at that decision but if your mum was a woman you have no business abusing or talking trash about other women💯.
